Knitting is a process in which we intersect threads in a longitudinal sense (we call warp), with threads in the transverse sense (we call the weft).

The warp is the first we will put on the loom, in which they are of fixed type, will be mounted in the regattas or nails, in the most complex looms, will be rolled in the wooden cylinders that will release it as we go Weaving, with these, we will have the fabric length we need. The threads of the weft, we will be woven through the help of a needle in single looms or, with a shuttle, in the complexes, once the pass is done, we will compact the fabric made with the same needle or with a comb.

A woven fabric can be made in many different ways depending on how we cross the threads of warp with those of the frame, we call it the type of ligament of a fabric and here, the possibilities are unlimited according to the ligament combinations or the quality and colors of the threads, both of the plot and of the warp.

We have chosen the most common ones for those who want to start in this world.

Taffeta

The taffeta is the first of the fundamental ligaments and the simplest, in it, the fabric will always be aligned with the sense of the order, since the repetition of the pattern will always be 90 degrees, the taffeta allows an infinite combination of patterns according to the combinations that we make, as well as the colors that we apply to them.

Taffeta – 1
1 color
1 warp thread by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Taffeta – 2
1 color
2 warp thread by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Taffeta – 3
1 color
3 warp thread by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Taffeta – 4
2 colors
1 warp thread by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Taffeta – 5
2 colors
2 warp thread by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Taffeta – 6
2 colors
3 warp thread by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Taffeta – 7
3 colors
1 warp thread by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Taffeta – 8
3 colors
2 warp thread by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Taffeta – 9
3 colors
3 warp thread by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Twill

Twill is the second fundamental ligament, in it, the repetition of the pattern will always move in each past we do, the result is a diagonal weave. The variants of the Twill, as with the taffeta, are infinite.

Twill – 1
1 warp thread offset per pass
1 color
2 warp threads by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Twill – 2
1 warp thread offset per pass
1 color
3 warp threads by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Twill – 3
1 warp thread offset per pass
1 color
4 warp threads by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Twill – 4
1 warp thread offset per pass
2 colors
4 warp threads by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Twill – 5
1 warp thread offset per pass
2 colors
3 warp threads by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Twill – 6
1 warp thread offset per pass
2 colors
2 warp threads by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Twill – 7
1 warp thread offset per pass
3 colors
4 warp threads by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Twill – 8
1 warp thread offset per pass
3 colors
3 warp threads by pass
1 weft pass of each color

Twill – 9
1 warp thread offset per pass
3 colors
2 warp threads by pass
1 weft pass of each color
